Chiller Important Operating Parameters And Selection Considerations

1.The chilled water inlet and outlet temp. , water flow rate, and pressure of the evaporator;

2.The cooling water inlet and outlet temp., pressure of the condenser (water cooled type)

3.The pressure and temperature of the refrigerant in the evaporator;

4.The pressure and temperature of the refrigerant in the condenser;

5.Chiller current and voltage;

6.Lubrication pressure and temperature;

7.Whether the chiller runs smoothly, with or without abnormal noise;

8.Whether each valve of the chiller leaks;

9.Whether the connection of each pipeline is tight.

1.What is the temperature difference required?

What’s the required objective chilled liquid outlet temp. and how long to achieve this temp.?

2.Considering the minimum energy consumption.

Pay attention to energy consumption and choose a water chiller with comprehensive utilization of electricity, heat and cold, such as a water-cooled screw chiller with heat recovery, which can recover the original waste condensing heat and realize the dual functions of cooling and heating, it can achieve the purpose of energy saving and emission reduction.

3.Does the chiller need to work together? 

Is necessary for multiple chillers, such as cold storage, industrial process, etc., which require stable and continuous refrigeration? If a chiller fails, other chillers are required to continue working.


4.Are there environmental protection requirements? 

When the chiller is working, some environmental problems will also occur, such as whether the refrigerant is toxic, and the operating noise is low, which will affect the environment around the company.

5.Cooling water quality requirements.

The quality of cold water will affect the cleanliness of the pipeline, especially the evaporator. The poor quality of the cooling water will accelerate the scaling and corrosion of the pipeline, causing blockage and damage to the evaporator.

6.Other special requirements such as explosion-proof and vibration.

If the chiller working environment is harsh, and it is often exposed to special materials such as flammable dust and explosive gases, then the customer will increase its requirements for explosion protection and vibration. For special substances such as combustible dust and explosive gases, customers should consult Eurostars relevant technical personnel to check whether the working environment of the chiller is inflammable and explosive to match the explosion-proof requirements.
